Open Mic Guidelines

Our traditional poets, and musicians play a central role in our families’ health, wealth, and happiness. Performing artists express our ancient past, our complex present, and our fondest hopes for tomorrow.

Colored Pencils performing artists are combination of established and emerging, elders or kids, serious or funny, traditional or hip hop, homeowners and homeless, our newest neighbors and settled Portlanders.

Sincerity counts above all. Our humanity grows from your contribution.

 Due to amazing amount of Portland’s talents please sign up early by emailing the open mic organizer.

Please submit to Open Mic coordinator:

• Your name, your family’s national or ethnic or local origins
• Forty words for an intro about you and your performance
• Your promise to respect other artists and our audience by staying inside 5 minutes
• A sample of, or a web link to, your work
